Introduction of Teaching Department

The First Hospital of Jilin University was founded in 1949, originally known as the Affiliated Hospital of the First Military Medical University of the People's Liberation Army. In 2000, when Bethune Medical University merged into Jilin University, the hospital was renamed The First Hospital of Jilin University. In 2020, the First Bethune School of Clinical Medicine, Jilin University was officially established.

The Teaching Department is composed of undergraduate education, postgraduate education, standardized training for resident and continuing education, as well as a clinical skill training center. It has comprehensively established a multi-level medical education system covering all aspects, forming a complete educational chain throughout the entire cycle of medical talent cultivation.

Faculty: Currently, there are 174 professors, 359 associate professors, 252 doctoral supervisors, and 490 master's supervisors in this hospital. There are one National Excellent Teacher, one National Model Teacher, and four Baosteel Excellent Teacher Awards. Our teachers have been honored with titles such as the "Huang Danian Style Teaching Team" of Jilin Province and the "Most Beautiful Team of Jilin Good People·Most Beautiful Teachers and Huang Danian Style Good Teachers".

Teaching achievements: It has won the second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the title of National First-Class Major, National First-Class Undergraduate Course, the second prize of National Excellent Textbook Construction, the first batch of "Grand Ideological and Political Education Class" Practical Teaching Bases of the country, and the first batch of National First Aid Education Pilot Programs. Teachers have also received numerous honors including the first prize of the Third and Fourth National College Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition and the first prize of the National English Teaching Demonstration Activity for International Students.

Talent Cultivation: Students won the gold medal in the Tenth China College Students' Medical Technology and Skills Competition in the five-year clinical medicine track, the first prize of the Second National Innovation Simulation Application Competition, and many other honors.

Undergraduate education includes clinical medicine of five-year program), "5+3" integrated program, "5+3" integrated program of pediatrics, Bethune Experimental Class (clinical medicine major), as well as English teaching for international students.

Postgraduate education focuses on academic frontiers and clinical depth, providing students with higher-level academic training and research guidance.

Standardized training for resident physicians and specialized physicians, focused on cultivating trainees' solid medical theoretical knowledge, clinical practical skills, rigorous medical style and good professional ethics, through clinical rotations and standardized training courses.

The Clinical Skills Training Center offers stratified and categorized training courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students, residents and young physicians of our hospital, comprehensively enhancing their clinical practical abilities and professional qualities, and facilitating the cultivation and career development of medical talents.
