The department has fully covered all diseases in the field of cardiac surgery, and carried out all technologies in the field of cardiac surgery. It is one of the few units in China that has independently carried out total arch replacement and distal elephant trunk stent implantation. It is the first department of cardiac surgery to carry out heart valve replacement and angioplasty in China, the heart valve repair rate is over 35%, which is three times higher than the national average heart valve repair rate (12%). The department took the lead in carrying out monopolar radiofrequency treatment of atrial fibrillation,

cryoradiofrequency and modified maze surgery in the three northeastern provinces; total thoracoabdominal aortic replacement; minimally invasive small incision thoracoscopic or full thoracoscopy-assisted cardiac surgery; ECMO cardiopulmonary assist technology, etc.
