Discipline dynamics

Since its establishment, the department has gradually carried out spinal deformity correction surgery, spinal tumor resection, and minimally invasive spine surgery on the basis of conventional spinal degeneration and spinal trauma surgery, and has formed its own characteristics.

In the aspect of spinal correction, the department has carried out surgical treatment of juvenile idiopathic scoliosis, neurofibromatosis scoliosis, congenital scoliosis, kyphoscoliosis and other diseases. The department has also conducted in-depth research on its pathogenesis and surgical treatment effect, and published several SCI papers. At the same time, the department carries out the popularization and screening of scoliosis, so that medical knowledge can better serve the society.

In spinal tumors aspect, such as spinal metastases and sacral tumors, the department performs en-bloc surgery for spinal tumors and has accumulated rich clinical experience.

In the aspect of minimally invasive spine surgery, the department carries out percutaneous vertebro plasty and percutaneous kyphoplasty (PVP, PKP), unilateral biportal endoscopic (UBE), and the number of operations is increasing year by year.
