He started working in orthopedics in 1987 and was promoted to professor in 2001. In 2005 the first spine surgery department in Jilin Province was established, he served as the director. He has specialized in the clinical, teaching and scientific research of spinal surgery for 25 years, dedicated to the clinical research of spinal deformity. In 1999, he started to take  the lead in applying segmental pedicle screws to correct scoliosis and made innovations. In the past ten years, he has focused on the application of minimally invasive concepts in the treatment of spinal deformities, tumors and degenerative diseases, leading the “rapid recovery spine surgery” operation into the era of zero blood transfusion.
