The Department of Anesthesiology of The First Hospital of Jilin University was established in 1963 and has become the most comprehensive anesthesiology discipline in Jilin Province. It is the center of anesthesia in Jilin Province which integrates clinical care, teaching, and scientific research. It has advanced anesthesia equipment and international anesthesia technologies and concepts. The anesthesiology department has 80 operating rooms. Outside the operating room, there are another 6 operating rooms including extracardiac intervention room, neurology intervention room, burn operation room, painless egg retrieval room and hepatobiliary intervention room. There is a pre-anaesthesia room and a post-anaesthesia care unit, which can accommodate 10 and 50 beds respectively. It also has an anesthesia clinic.
