Characteristics of Diagnosis and Treatment

(1) Diagnosis and treatment of difficult and severe cases

The department attaches great importance to the improvement of the level of clinical diagnosis and treatment and the quality of medical services. Especially attention is paid to improving the diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical patients. The department has held the Jilin Province difficult and critical medical record seminar for 10 consecutive years. It introduces the experience of diagnosis and treatment of our difficult cases from the original scope of department to the current scope of the whole Jilin Province. And 10 volumes of difficult case reports have been published, which makes the rare and difficult cases in the past into our daily work. In the past 10 years, 79 cases of primary biliary cirrhosis, 10 cases of primary sclerosing cholangitis, 51 cases of hepatolenticular degeneration, 4 cases of hepatic amyloidosis were diagnosed. Up to now, the department has published 91 difficult and critical medical records in domestic medical journals and 31 in foreign journals. Currently, the department conducts the diagnosed of IgG4-associated sclerosing cholangitis overlaps with autoimmune hepatitis, AIH, PBC, Sjögren's syndrome overlap with primary cutaneous amyloidosis, giant angiomyolipoma of the liver, Notoginseng-induced hepatic venous occlusion, Zieve syndrome, angioatrophic cutaneous heterochromia with liver cirrhosis, Castleman, PBC with punctate palmar toe keratosis, drug-induced autoimmune hepatitis, congenital dysplasia causes liver cirrhosis in young people, pregnancy complicated by severe liver injury with hemophagocytic syndrome, ambroxol in the treatment of Gaucher disease-related cirrhosis and portal hypertension, eosinophilia leading to liver damage, etc.

(2) Multidisciplinary consultation of liver cancer

Up to now, more than 10,000 patients have been consulted, and the best treatment plan for liver cancer patients has been formulated. It makes a great progress to improve the standardized treatment level of liver cancer and the prognosis of patients. It has great significance to the qualitative diagnosis and treatment of small hepatocellular carcinoma by conducting ultrasound contrast enhancement technique and microwave ablation of liver tumors.

(3) Focusing on the development of new technologies and new therapies: the  

department conducted artificial liver blood purification treatment, noninvasive transient hepatic fibrosis scanning: Fibroscan&Fibrotouch and PCR detection platform by Roche automatic fluorescence quantitative was used for the quantitative detection of HCV and HBV firstly in Jilin Province. It also carried out hepatitis C genotype testing and detection of HBV mutation sites to ensure that patients with chronic hepatitis B and C receive precise and standardized treatment and monitoring.
