Emergency Surgery Department of The First Hospital of Jilin University was established in August 2013，Which is now the backbone of the emergency first aid in Jilin Province. The department adheres to the concept of “ fast and high-quality service ” and “ people-oriented ”. On the basis of 0 medical accident, the department has appliesnew concepts and new technologies of emergency medicine to meet the new needs of social development.

There are 12 doctors in Emergency Surgery Department, including 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 3 attending physicians, and 7 resident physicians. The department has 3 doctor degree holders and 7 master degree holders. Through rotation, advanced studies and years of clinical practice, doctors in the department have become general practitioners in emergency care, who are specialized in diagnosis and treatment of acute abdomen, multiple injuries caused by various causes, compound injuries, and emergency and critical care. The average annual number of surgical emergency visits is 20,000.

The department has published 6 SCI and nearly 20 core journals in the past 5 years. It has successfully set up 1 project of Jilin Provincial Science and Technology Commission, 1 special project of Jilin Provincial Finance and Health Commission, 1 project of the Education Department of Jilin Province, and 3 horizontal projects.

The emergency surgery outpatient hall currently has emergency surgery department, general surgery department, neurotrauma surgery department, neurovascular surgery department, trauma orthopedics department, obstetrics and gynecology department, hand and foot surgery department, trauma plastic and cosmetic surgery department, thoracic surgery department, urology department, ENT department and other departments for outpatient visits. The outside is adjacent to auxiliary departments such as emergency CT, X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, and laboratory, which can provide 24 hours rapid emergency medical assistance to the whole society. The department has 2 rescue beds, 6 intensive care beds, 9 observation beds, and 25 emergency surgery inpatient beds.
