The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at The First Hospital of Jilin University was established in 1953. It is a clinical first-level discipline integrating functional assessment and treatment. With decades of exploration and development, the department has cultivated a vigorous and skilled professional team, providing high-quality care for patients with dysfunction by a collaborative medical service model integrating clinical treatment and rehabilitation.

The department is accredited as the Key Clinical Training Specialty of Jilin University, the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” and “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” Rehabilitation Backbone Talents Training Center of China Disabled Persons Federation, and the Jilin Provincial Rehabilitation Medicine Engineering Research Center. The department undertook the teaching tasks of Rehabilitation Medicine for the medical college students and international foreigner students in Jilin University, and also the master’s and doctoral students cultivating.

There are inclinic with 55-beds and outclinic, 1500 square meters training hall, a rehabilitation engineering room. The department has 16 physiatrists, 60 therapists and 19 nurses, whose specialty is in the field of neurological rehabilitation, SCI rehabilitation, TBI rehabilitation, Orthopedic rehabilitation, etc.
