The Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology of The First Hospital of Jilin University was established in 2012. It is a professional department integrating clinical, teaching and scientific research. It is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of children’s digestive system diseases in Jilin Province and surrounding areas. The department has specialized outpatient clinics, specialized wards, children’s digestive endoscopy room, children’s digestive tract dynamic examination room and bedside rapid testing laboratory. There are 32 beds in the ward. More than 2,000 children were hospitalized annually, the annual outpatient visits are about 30,000, and the annual diagnosis and treatment cases of digestive endoscopy are more than 2,000.

Over the years, the department has been committed to the diagnosis and treatment of children with gastrointestinal diseases, hepatobiliary diseases, pancreatic diseases, and malnutrition. It has focused on the research and treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea, biliary atresia, infantile hepatitis syndrome, unexplained liver injury, unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding, genetic metabolic liver disease, acute and chronic pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, allergic purpura, acute and chronic gastritis, digestive tract Foreign body, peptic ulcer, milk protein allergy, hepatolenticular degeneration, malnutrition, feeding disorder, constipation, gastroesophageal reflux, periodic vomiting, small intestinal lymphangiectasia, Helicobacter pylori infection and other diseases.
