The Department of Radiation Oncology & Therapy of The First Hospital of Jilin University is an advanced department integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and personnel training. It has been designated as:

In the recent 5 years, the department has published more than 100 papers. Among them, more than 80 articles were indexed in SCI, and 8 national invention patents were obtained. The department presides over  60 scientific research projects, including the “13th Five-Year Plan” national key research and development plan projects, general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, youth fund projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, provincial and ministerial-level and teaching projects. And it has won a number of provincial and school-level awards.

The department undertook a number of domestic and foreign clinical trials of medicine and devices. In 2018, as the team leader, the department completed the first large-scale medical device clinical trial, and successfully passed the supervision and acceptance of the first batch of large-scale medical device clinical trials by the National Medical Products Administration. Basic research directions included radiation damage and recovery, radiation sensitivity, radiation immunity, precision radiotherapy physics and technology, application of artificial intelligence in radiotherapy, etc. The department pays attention to the integration of medicine, engineering and the transformation of achievements, and has achieved a series of research results.
