On average, more than 4,000 patients are treated with precise radiotherapy in the department each year. The department carries out a variety of internationally leading external beam radiation techniques, including: IMRT, VMAT, image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), FFF mode stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) based on 4D-CT images, total skin electron irradiation, total body irradiation prior to bone marrow transplantation, and bridging therapy for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma prior to liver transplantation, etc.

The department is the first in Jilin Province to apply SBRT in the treatment of early-stage lung cancer, bile duct cancer, pancreatic cancer, primary liver cancer, colorectal cancer, and gastric cancer liver, lung and retroperitoneal metastases and other body malignancies.

In the field of brachytherapy, the department has been proficient in using 3D printing resin template combined with CT-guided precise implantation technology to treat gynecological tumors, and applying Iodine-125 radioactive seed implantation technology to treat various refractory malignant tumors.
