The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine of The First Hospital of Jilin University consists of a cardiology inpatient unit, electrophysiology center, cardiac catheterization lab, cardiac intensive care unit, cardiac rehabilitation center, and pharmacology trial center. The construction of the department integrates the advantages of interdisciplinary, streamline the diagnosis and treatment of outpatient, emergency, clinical examination, and constitutes a comprehensive and systemic institution for  the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, which greatly promotes regional health cause development.

At present, the department is undertaking more than 30 national-level scientific research projects, including the projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Twelfth Five-Year Plan and the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan, 2 national major projects, and 1 national intractable disease project. It has successively won more than 10 provincial and academy-level scientific research and teaching awards.

The department is committed to changing from medical service to scientific research, from basic medicine to clinical medicine, and from translational medicine to precise medical treatment.
