Department of Orthopaedic Trauma of The First Hospital of Jilin University is the first professional department of “Orthopaedic traumatology” in grade A tertiary hospital in Jilin Province, which is formally established on January 19^th, 2010. There are 60 beds and 16 staff members: 5 professors, 4 associate professors, 4 attending physicians, 1 resident doctor, 1 administrative secretary, and 1 radiographic technician. Among them, there are 3 doctoral supervisors and 4 master supervisors. There are about 25 graduate students and advanced students working in clinical work, and there are more than 40 doctors in total. The department adheres to the concept of harmony, devotion, innovation and dedication.

Each year, the department will hold a provincial conference of “Jilin Orthopaedic Trauma Forum” and undertake a national academic conference. In 2011, “Department of Orthopaedic Trauma of The First Hospital of Jilin University-Department of Orthopaedic Trauma of Beijing Jishuitan Hospital Cooperative Department” was established. In 2017, the team won the project “Research on Orthopedic Precision Treatment Solutions Integrating Multimodal Imaging and Robotic Technology” from the Ministry of Science and Technology. At the beginning of 2018, it passed the review of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the national   Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, and became one of the first 21 leading units in the country. It began to establish the National Orthopedic Surgery Robot Application Center of The First Hospital of Jilin University. In 2021, it has passed the acceptance of the National Health Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
