The cadre ward of The First Hospital of Jilin University was established in 1985, which is the largest cadre health care base in Jilin Province. It is a national key specialty of clinical geriatrics of the Ministry of Health. It is mainly responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of geriatric diseases and the health care of cadres. There are 70 beds in the 6^th treatment areas of the cadre ward. There are more than 10,000 outpatient and emergency and more than 2,000 inpatients each year.

Since the establishment of the department, it has published 196 academic papers as the first author or corresponding author, of which 90 are included in SCI and it has undertaken 58 projects of various types as project leaders, including 7 national-level projects, 18 provincial and ministerial-level projects and obtained patents 3 items.
