In the years of clinical, teaching and scientific research practice, the department has gradually formed its key points in the work:

1 Otology: the department has carried out all ear surgeries, among which the treatment of stapes surgery, Hemifacial spasm and trigeminal neuralgia (prosopalgia) are at the leading level in China, and Cochlear implantation is the first to be carried out in the three northeastern provinces.

2 Head and Neck Oncology Surgery:

The department has carried out the resection of advanced malignant tumors of the head and neck, Neck dissection and functional reconstruction surgery. In cooperation with the Department of Surgery, Queen Mary Hospital of Hong Kong University, several national courses on flap transplantation and microvascular anastomosis were held.

3 Rhinology:

The Department of Rhino-Ophthalmology and Nasal Neurosurgery was first established in China by Professor Bu Guoxuan in the early 1960s.

4 Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome OSAS Treatment:

The department earlier carried out Palatopharyngoplasty and Low temperature plasma radiofrequency therapy.
