Discipline dynamics

In July 2021, the Organ Transplant Center of The First Hospital of Jilin University was officially established in order to integrate the strength of disciplines, promote the process of multi-organ joint transplantation, fill the gaps in the field, and promote the high-quality development of the hospital.

On the basis of the previous development, the lung transplantation has been integrated and started again. In March 2021, the department sent 2 professors, 1 attending physician, 1 physician, 3 nurses, and 1 anesthesiologist to Wuxi People’s Hospital which is one of the three major lung transplantation centers in the world for a six-month advanced study of lung transplantation technology.

So far, 17 cases of donor lungs have been taken, and 5 cases of recipients to be transplanted have been treated. At the same time, Professor Chen Jingyu, the first person in lung transplantation in China, was hired as a visiting professor of lung transplantation in our hospital, to escort the lung transplantation project to restart.
