Discipline Dynamics

At present, the department is gradually developing towards the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) on the basis of traditional thoracotomy. With the core idea of reducing surgical trauma, the department focused on various minimally invasive surgeries such as minimally invasive small incision, thoracoscopy-assisted, transapical aortic valve implantation (TAVI), and aortic stent-graft placement, which minimized surgical trauma and achieved rapid recovery.
