Key Laboratory of Organ Regeneration and Transplantation
Key Laboratory of Organ Regeneration and Transplantation (Ministry of Education)
The Key Laboratory of Organ Regeneration and Transplantation (Ministry of Education) of Jilin University was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2019, focusing mainly on the serious problem of life-threatening human problems caused by the increasing shortage of transplant organs, it has taken the lead in conducting basic and applied research on transplantation to solve the shortage of transplant organs of the country. It is the only laboratory in China that uses humanized animal models to study the fundamental problems of transplantation, transplantation infection and organ reconstruction, and is also one of the few laboratories in China that has both advanced animal models and a first-class scientific research team with strong clinical resources.
At present, the laboratory has formed an excellent academic team with the leading scholar academician and with professors and doctoral supervisors as the hard core and with middle-aged and young doctors as the back bone. The key laboratory has 65 personnel working for research and technique, including 42 professors, 16 associate professors, 4 lecturers and 3 technicians, and 62 members with doctoral degrees. Among them, more than 80% have overseas study experience; The laboratory currently has 58 graduate supervisors (11 postgraduate supervisors and 47 doctoral supervisors), including:
3 National “Special Experts of the Thousand Talents Program of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee”;
1 Changjiang Scholars Distinguished Professor;
1 Young Overseas High-Level Talent;
2 recipients of the Distinguished Youth Program of the NSFC,
2 recipients of the Outstanding Youth Program of the NSFC,
1 National “Ten Thousand Program” Young Top Talents,
2 scholars of Changbai Mountain, Jilin Province,
2 Outstanding “Qing miao” Talents in Jilin Province,
4 Tang Aoqing Distinguished Professors of Jilin University.
The laboratory has advanced equipment, more than 200 pieces of equipment with a unit price of more than 50,000 yuan and more than 40 pieces of equipment with a unit price of more than 1 million yuan, with 87.39 million yuan in total. The instruments and equipment operate efficiently and have the capability of research, transformation and functional development. There is a stable management and technical personnel team, while the management system is relatively complete.
Representative instruments and equipment are as follows:
Cytek AuroraTM 38-color flow cytometer;
BD LSR Fortessa 18-color flow cytometer;
BD Influx 13-color flow cytometer;
Zeiss two-photon confocal microscope;
PE IVIS Spectrum small animal in vivo optical imaging system;
GE Akta Avant 25 protein purification system;
Beckman ultracentrifuge, vertical high-speed centrifuge;
Rad Source Small Animal Irradiator;
Rad Source Large animal irradiator;
Thermo Histology and Pathology Systems;
GE DeltaVision Live Cell Workstation, etc.
In addition, there is a micro-operation room on the 3rd floor with four sets of micro-operation systems, including two sets of fully automatic Eppendorf micro-operation systems, which can perform a large number of embryo manipulations simultaneously. There are piezoelectric perforators for mouse embryo manipulation and microinjectors for cytoplasmic and pronuclear injections. There are also matching drawing instruments, needle grinding instruments and needle forging instruments for the preparation of microinjection needles, as well as three-gas incubators and biological safety cabinets, which related to embryo culture.
In the past five years, laboratory personnel have successively applied for more than 170 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and platform-funded projects as project leaders, with 200 million RMB in total, including: 1 national major infectious disease special 12th Five-Year Project and 1 National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program), 2 national key research and development projects, 2 rolling support Projects of the Changjiang Scholars and Innovation Team of the Ministry of Education, 52 National Natural Science Foundation of China, among them: 3 key projects, 2 key projects of "Organ Transplantation" Program, 1 project of Director's Fund of the Ministry of Science/Emergency Management, 2 projects of Distinguished Youth Program, 2 projects of Outstanding Youth Program, 1 project of Mathematical Tian-yuan Program, 1 project of the International Cooperation and Exchange Program, 36 projects General Program, and 5 projects of the Youth Program.
It has won 27 national, provincial and ministerial awards, including 1 second-class National Natural Science Award, 1 first-class Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, 2-class prize for national teaching achievements of the Ministry of Education and 1 first-class Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education; 106 patents have been approved; published 295 SCI papers and 2 monographs, including Nature, Science, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Cell Research, Science Advances, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A, Cell Reports Medicine, eLife, et. al.; participated in the edition of 24 guidelines for the field of liver disease in China; hosted 2 international academic conferences in related fields and 78 domestic academic conferences; obtained 3 new drug certificates and 1 kit production approval.
The principals and academic backbones of various research directions have been specially invited to attend advanced academic forums in related fields at home and abroad for many times and made conference reports. The results have been widely recognized by international counterparts with high international prestige and authority.
