The China Research Hospital Association released the evaluation and selection results of research hospitals for 2023 at the opening ceremony of the “China Research Hospital Summit Forum 2023”.

As one of the first batch of national research hospitals, The First Hospital of Jilin University ranks 28th as a research hospital (comprehensive hospital) nationwide in 2023 and its organ transplantation and neurology were selected for the list of research disciplines. These two disciplines are separate from the first batch of academic special zone discipline and summit discipline in the hospital, which continuously achieve breakthroughs in developmental quality and speed.

It is known that the 1st selection of research hospitals was launched in 2022, which was led by the China Research Hospitals Association and jointly implemented by the China Hospital Development Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the CN-Healthcare. It is aiming to establish a model and promote discipline construction through evaluation that focusing on three dimensions: clinical diagnosis and treatment, technological innovation and achievement transformation to show the “quality and connotation” of excellent research hospitals; to establish a research discipline that integrates clinical and scientific research; to cultivate research talents with the characteristics of clinical experts, scientists, educators, and management experts in one.

As a new concept of hospital construction, the research hospital emphasizes the simultaneous development of clinical and scientific research; as a new model, it emphasizes both scale and connotation; as a new driving force, it emphasizes the combination of innovation and transformation development; as a new level, it emphasizes both ability and contribution. It is the only way to achieve self-reliance and self-improvement in high-level medical technology; an important measure to promote the high-quality development of public hospitals; a key link in promoting the implementation of the new diagnosis and treatment system; an objective requirement to promote the coordinated development of the health industry by strengthening the construction of research hospital
